Information for Schools
The accredited La Jolie Ronde Primary Language Course is now being used in a growing number of schools and nurseries as part of the curriculum to introduce young children to their first modern language.
The Nuffield enquiry has come out positively for language learning at Key Stages 1 and 2, and the La Jolie Ronde Programme provides the ideal start. Our course meets the Government's non-statutory guidelines for the National Curriculum with regard to Modern Foreign Languages at primary level. Our innovative teaching methods enable children to learn to use the French language in a natural way that builds confidence. La Jolie Ronde lessons are taught in a structured and enjoyable way with games, role-play and an emphasis on oral work. Each child has an activity book suited to his/her age, which helps to reinforce the oral work, and at the end of the year pupils receive a certificate of achievement.
As La Jolie Ronde's representative for the West Midlands, I have invaluable long-term experience teaching French using La Jolie Ronde's course material and methodology. Together with my team of three tutors, we are now teaching the course as part of the curriculum in other local schools, and from September this year some schools have opted to hold La Jolie Ronde French lessons during the new PPA time. All La Jolie Ronde tutors are vetted for their language and teaching competence, they speak fluent French, and believe it is very important to introduce young children to the French language and its culture.
Please contact me if you would like me to visit your school to discuss the opportunity of introducing French to your pupils, and to view the La Jolie Ronde programmes and resources.
"Any children lucky enough to attend one of the La Jolie Ronde courses are likely to enjoy the experience and to grow up with a very positive attitude towards the learning of a foreign language…." Journal "Francophonie" Association for Language Learning 1993.
